Gargoyles Ultimate Goliath 7-Inch Scale Action Figure:
The time of the Gargoyles has come again! Arguably the best gothic cartoon of the 1990s, Gargoyles followed an ancient clan of gargoyles transported to modern-day Manhattan when their Scottish castle is relocated. Leader Goliath joins the Ultimate line with an appropriately large 8-inch tall action figure, with a wingspan of 16-inches wide! The figure features full articulation, including on wings and tail, and comes with plenty of accessories: wings, jalapeno pepper, book, and interchangeable heads and hands. Comes in display-friendly window box packaging with opening flap. Ages 14 & up.
For toys and collectibles – 1,000 years in the making – you’ve come to the right place! In architecture, a gargoyle is a figure with a spout to convey water from a roof and away from the side of a building. The word comes from the French gargouille, and like gargle and gurgle, goes back to Greek and Sanskrit. It’s come to mean throat or gullet. But a French legend speaks of St. Romanus in the 7th century delivering the country around Rouen from a monster called Gargouille or Goji, a dragon with bat-like wings, a long neck, and the ability to breathe fire from its mouth. Which (sort of) brings us to the Disney animated series Gargoyles that aired from 1994 to 1997. With a voice cast including actors from the Star Trek franchise, the series features nocturnal creatures known as gargoyles that have been transported from medieval Scotland (after 1,000 years in a petrified state) to modern-day Manhattan, where they turn to stone by day but awaken to protect the city by night.
